I was talking to a male friend about being practical in things like diy and jokingly said that in my next life I would marry someone practical like my dad. His reply was…..lol we all have our thing not found mine yet (laughing emoji).
I didn’t quite get it and asked him what he meant but he has not replied yet. Can anyone advise me what he was trying to say. Sorry for sounding dim about it.

I believe It meant that your thing is to marry someone practical like your dad, and he doesn’t know what his thing is yet. In other words, he doesn’t have a life plan or know what he wants. If he’s a hyper-focused person that really does know, then he’s poking a bit of ironic fun at himself. If he not all that focused, then he’s making a joke about himself with a grain of truth to it.That’s how I read it anyway.
